Russia has issued a fresh warning that British military facilities and equipment could become targets if Ukraine continues using British-supplied long-range missiles against Russian territory. The warning raises the temperature between Moscow and London, but should not be read as confirmation Russia is preparing an immediate attack on Britain.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Moscow had repeatedly warned about possible consequences for countries supplying Ukraine with long-range weapons. The dispute centres on Britain's military support for Ukraine, including assistance connected to Storm Shadow cruise missiles and technology intended to support Ukrainian production.

Britain's position remains that Ukraine is defending itself against Russia's invasion and has the right to strike military targets connected to that conflict. This distinction matters: Russia's warning is a political and military threat, not evidence an attack on Britain has been ordered.

The danger lies in the possibility of escalation. The war has already expanded the strategic confrontation between Russia and Western governments well beyond Ukraine's borders — weapons supplied by Britain, France, Germany, and the United States have let Ukraine strike deeper into Russian-controlled territory, while Moscow has repeatedly warned of consequences for Western involvement.
